The service detail page in the Customer Dashboard is where you actually manage a purchased SmartXHosting service — change passwords, buy upgrade add-ons, renew, request cancellation, manage DNS records, create email accounts, review SSL certificates. This guide walks through every option available on the service detail page accessed via smartxhosting.uk/login.
Opening the service detail page • Section 1 — Overview • Section 2 — Actions • Changing the service password • Upgrade/Downgrade options • Renewing a service • Requesting cancellation • Section 3 — Manage Account • Managing DNS records • Managing email accounts • FAQ
Sign in at smartxhosting.uk/login, go to Services, click the row of the service you want to manage or use its Manage button.

The service detail page opens. The layout has six sections: Overview, Actions, Manage Account, One Click Login, Recommended For You, and the current offer banner.

Note: most options are only available for services with Active status. Pending, Suspended or Terminated services have limited options.
Basic information about the service: name, associated domain, disk usage, bandwidth usage. Click Information in the menu at any time to return to this view.

Four options for the service:
If the service has its own password (for example FTP, Plesk, or a specific application login), use Change password to set a new one.

Options:
Store the new password immediately — it won’t be displayed again. Use a password manager. Click Save Changes to apply.
If add-ons or upgrades are available for the service, you’ll see them here. Examples: extra disk (+5GB), bandwidth boost, premium email features, additional domains hosted.

To buy an add-on:

After payment, wait for activation — typically minutes for resource upgrades, up to 24 hours for more complex provisioning.
If the service is due for renewal, the Renew Service option opens the renewal page with the service pre-selected.

Add to cart, checkout, pay. Your service’s next-due date shifts by the renewal period.
For auto-renewal, enable it on the service or use the global Dashboard › Email Preferences to make sure renewal invoices are sent to your email. Auto-renewal still requires a valid payment method on file.
If you want to cancel a service, use Request Cancellation.

Two cancellation types:
You’ll be asked for a cancellation reason (optional but helpful for SmartXHosting’s product feedback).
Controls for service-level settings. The specific options depend on product type — hosting services show DNS, email, SSL; domain-only services show domain-specific options.
For hosting services, the DNS section lets you add, edit and delete DNS records for the domains associated with the service.
Click the edit icon next to a domain to open DNS management.
![]()
You’ll see the current DNS records list.

Actions:

DNS changes take propagation time — usually 1–4 hours for UK ISPs, up to 24 hours globally. Don’t panic if a new record doesn’t appear immediately in public DNS checkers.
Record type limits may apply depending on your plan.
For hosting services that include mailboxes, you can create and manage email accounts for each associated domain.
Number of mailboxes allowed depends on your plan. When you first open the email management, the list is empty until you create the first account.
Click Create Email Account to start.

Fill in:

Save. The mailbox is created and ready to receive mail immediately. Use webmail, eM Client, Outlook or any IMAP/SMTP client to access it.
To edit or delete existing email accounts, use the edit/delete icons on the accounts list.

Manage every service in one place
From passwords and add-ons to DNS records and email accounts, the service detail page gives you complete control over each SmartXHosting service you run in the UK.
Open the Customer DashboardQ: Why are some options greyed out?
A: Most options require Active status. Pending, Suspended and Terminated services have limited options until the status changes back to Active.
Q: Do DNS changes propagate instantly?
A: No — DNS has TTL-based caching. UK ISPs typically pick up changes within 1–4 hours. Global propagation can take 24 hours. Use dnschecker.org to monitor propagation globally.
Q: How many email accounts can I create?
A: Depends on your plan. Check the service’s Overview section or Plesk’s subscription limits for the specific count.
Q: What’s the cancellation policy?
A: Immediate cancellation stops the service now with no refund. End-of-cycle cancellation runs until the paid period ends. For recent orders under the money-back-guarantee window, contact support for a refund option.
Q: Can I restore a deleted DNS record?
A: If it was recent, SmartXHosting daily backups may have it. Open a support ticket with details of the record and timing.
Q: The “Use As Login To Plesk” option — what does it do?
A: Lets you use the email address as an additional login to the Plesk control panel. Useful if you’re delegating server management to a team member without sharing the main admin password.
Q: Can I bulk-create email accounts?
A: Not via the dashboard UI directly. Bulk creation is typically done via Plesk’s own interface or API; contact support for bulk-setup help.
Q: Add-on purchased but not activated?
A: Most add-ons activate within minutes. If an add-on stays inactive beyond a few hours, contact support with the order reference — manual activation may be needed.
